NMRC
Board of Directors Voting Recommendations
Following
NMRC member input, thorough review of the merger proposal,
national meeting attendance and a conference
call with NRC staff, the New Mexico Recycling
Coalition (NMRC) Board of Directors is recommending that
NMRC members vote, “yes,” in support of the
proposed merger. The NMRC Board of Directors believes that the
merger is the most prudent approach to assist NRC in
becoming a more
proactive national voice for
recycling.

NMRC Member Feedback
-
From Linda McCormick, Resource
Conservation Manager at UNM in Albuquerque
"I'm in favor of the merger.
Mostly I'm angry at NRC administration for getting
themselves and us into this situation but that's really
beside the point now. I've read the KAB
proposal/information and I believe that they are sincere
in what they propose for NRC and NRC will be fairly well
placed to continue advocacy for recycling. I'm not at
all sure that I want to be part of the National
Recycling Coalition (NRC) anymore though."

From Kariann
Sokulsky with Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Chino Mines
Company
"I remain
unconvinced that this merger is best for promoting &
expanding recycling, especially industrial recycling,
which I see already as a gap within the NMRC. Is there
a list of pros & cons for each option (i.e., merger vs.
NRC remaining independent)? Can NRC remain financially
independent?"
